Mackenzie is a Software Engineer working within the Weather Informatics and Decision Support (WIDS) division to build impact-based decision support tools for National Weather Service (NWS) forecasters. He previously held a variety of roles building cloud-based applications at Target Corporation–from reliability engineering in the transaction ecosystem to full-stack Android development for guest experiences in stores. After relocating from Minnesota to the Denver metro, he joined a space robotics startup as a full-stack software engineer, building web-based ground station systems to communicate with both environmental monitors across the U.S. and rovers on the Moon.

He and his wife live northwest of Denver with their rescue dog, where they love to spend as much time in the wilderness as possible–hiking, biking, running, snowboarding, and more.
