Tony Liao

Tony Liao

Since joining NOAA in January 2015 as a visiting scientist, Tony has consistently delivered strong results. This led to his appointment in March 2016 as a Cooperative Institute (CI) Research Associate under the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES). Over the years, he progressed to the role of Senior Research Associate and Scientific Program Manager. In 2025, Tony officially joined NOAA Research’s Global Systems Laboratory, where he continues to manage scientific projects while also serving as a Data Scientist, leveraging his expertise to drive innovation and enhance decision-making processes.

Tony currently serves as a Project Manager with a focus on international cooperation, primarily supporting collaborative initiatives involving Taiwan’s Central Weather Bureau (CWB).
