Research Scientist, EPAD
Laura is an evaluation researcher in the Fire Weather Testbed and the Decision Support Research and Evaluation (DSRE) Branch within the Global Systems Laboratory’s Weather Informatics and Decision Support (WIDS) Division, working through the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA). Her work focuses on evaluating decision-support tools for fire weather forecasting, assessing user experiences with operational tools, and integrating user feedback to improve operational products and services. Prior to joining GSL, Laura led research and program evaluation in K–12 STEM education, working closely with teachers as end users to assess and refine curricula and instructional strategies. She brings a cross-disciplinary perspective from her background in atmospheric science and education research to designing evaluations that bridge technical innovation and real-world decision-making.
